What is STONKS?

Updated 18 October 2026 · by Finance God

STONKS is a free daily trading game played in the browser. Every day there are 3 real stock and crypto charts, the same 3 for everyone. Each one plays out for 30 seconds, and you decide when to go long, go short or sit flat. There are no tickers and no dates, so you trade the chart, not the name. Your score is compared with what you'd have made by just holding.

PLAY TODAY'S CHARTS

How does a STONKS day work?

  1. A new set of 3 charts goes live every day at midnight New York time.
  2. Each chart is a real price history from a stock or a cryptocurrency, with the name and dates hidden.
  3. You get 30 seconds per chart. Tap Long if you think it goes up, Short if you think it goes down, or stay Flat. You can change your mind during the chart.
  4. Each day is traded with a fresh $10,000 of play money. At the end you see your result next to the "just hold" result, and which company or coin each chart was.

Is it hard to beat just holding?

Yes, more often than people expect. In STONKS's first three weeks of play (161 scored days), 47% of players finished below what simply holding the same three charts would have made, and 55% finished the day in profit.

What can you compete on?
